About this Opportunity:
iVenture is looking for IT Career Practicum students to join our Jacksonville, Florida office. The practicum opportunity is designed to be an 18 week program over a semester (with the potential for a repeat semester) and will consist of candidates being exposed to a broad range of IT responsibilities to include: building and deployment of computer systems, new VMware installs, new firewall setups, and managing critical system alerts for our clients.
The assignments will be a mix of performing daily experience tasks while being mentored/shadowed by an IT professional. Candidates will work approximately 20 hours per week during the 18 week program.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Respond to and address maintenance alerts which includes drive space, management agents not responding, service failures, and antivirus information and updates
Assist with builds of new PCs
Assist with new firewall set-ups
Assist with VMware installs
Support Microsoft Windows desktop technologies
Responsible for detailed documentation
Communicate the need for escalation promptly
Assist with other small projects as needed
